If you are a Shopify Store Owner, most probably you have a Twitter Account for your store. For merchants like you tweeting updates about new products can be a boring, repetitive and time-consuming task. By automating this, you can save lots of precious hours and focus more on more crucial things like sales, shipping or inventory management.
What you need?
- Smart RSS Feed App for Shopify.
- Any RSS to Twitter service like Twitterfeed (It’s FREE ). The below article explains everything using Twitterfeed. For other services, the basics remain the same.
Step by Step Guide
Step 1: If you have not installed Smart RSS Feed app, install it from the Shopify App Store.
Step 2: Grab your collection feed URL. A typical collection feed URL is below
http://smartwishlist.myshopify.com/a/feed?type=collection&key=all
Step 3: Create an account and login to Twitterfeed. Click “Create New Feed”.
Step 4: Under Advanced Settings, specify the tweet frequency, the structure of Tweets, links and other parameters.
Step 5: Click the button “Continue to Step 2” and select Twitter from the list of available services.
Step 6: You will have to authenticate and allow Twitterfeed to post tweets on your behalf. Click the button “Authenticate Twitter using Oauth”. You would be redirected to Twitter where you need to grant the asked permissions. After successful authentication, you would be redirected back to this page.
Step 7: Finally, create the Shopify to Twitter by clicking “Create Service” button. Your tweets shall start appearing in few hours.
In the collection feed URL, the key=all lists all products available on your store and therefore will publish the tweets corresponding to all products. If you want to publish products from a selected collection, replace all with the collection handle. For e.g. for collection frontpage, the feed URL would be
http://www.yourstore.com/a/feed?type=collection&key=frontpage
