We’re announcing a change to the free trial period for our Smart RSS Feed app. Effective immediately, the free trial will be reduced from 60 days to 30 days. We understand that this adjustment may be inconvenient, and we want to explain the reasons behind this difficult decision.
Please note that existing stores will not be impacted by this change; it is pertinent only to new installations.
Why the Change?
The 60-day trial was intended to give merchants ample time to fully experience the benefits of our app. Unfortunately, we’ve observed a pattern of systematic abuse with the longer trial period. Over 1000 stores in the last year alone have installed the app, generated their Pinterest pins, and uninstalled before 60 days.
This frequent uninstall behavior negatively impacts our visibility and ranking within the Shopify App Store. It ultimately harms our ability to offer the app at a competitive price while continuing to improve its features.
Our Commitment to Fair Pricing
Reducing the trial period is a step we’re taking to protect the interests of genuine customers who use and pay for our app as intended. Our goal is to ensure that everyone benefits from a sustainable pricing model that doesn’t pass on the cost of abuse to those who value our app.

We hope you understand the necessity of this change. If the pattern of abuse continues, we may be forced to consider an even shorter trial period in the future.
